Hello Everyone!

Welcome to this blog which I have devoted to tips and tricks I have found living my new gluten free lifestyle. Some people might be faced with the ending of a normal life, but this is a new chapter into the new, recreated you! Why not use this as an opportunity to improve your lifestyle to be happier and healthier?

As always, we each have a story. My story begins when I was a little kid. When I had reached the age of 12, I ended up going to the clinic for chronic constipation issues. The doctor's prescribed me fiber pills, which made my stomach hurt worse. By stomach, I mean my small intestines area. Throughout my high school years I had issues eating and would rather not eat then feel sick. A few times I ended up with a serious case of sickness with fever, dizziness, headaches, muscle aches, and acid reflux. I ended up in the emergency room, but doctor's wrote it off as a virus, food poisoning, or an unexplained immune system response. I hid this trouble and tried to focus my attention on schooling and did not participate in many extra curricular activities because of my unusual condition. By the time I was 22, I ended up in the hospital again four times in one month. They tested me and I was diagnosed on August 27, 2011 with Celiac Disease. I had never heard of the condition before and had no idea how to live a gluten free lifestyle.

Slowly but surely, I have read message boards, subscribed to e-newsletters, and have done consistent research to live in a happy, healthy gluten free way. It takes a lot of work at first to figure out where all the hidden gluten is. But once a person is able to eradicate most of it, the lifestyle gets better and better.

It is also important to apply this lifestyle in more than just the food you eat. When I was in the hospital, I started creating a list of all the things I had wanted to do. I did not want that list turning into a list of regrets, so I am working to complete my goals one step at a time.

So please join me by following my blog and together we can grow in a GF lifestyle!

Sincerely,
Missy
