Calves Get Excited When Given a New Hay Bale

The first time we put a bale into the calves pen, they were locked inside the barn because they were afraid of the tractor. Since then, they have learned that a tractor usually means food. So, we distract them by feeding their nightly grain allotment in the bunks while we get the tractor through the gate.

The calves didn't get as excited as I hoped they would for the video. The last time we put a bale in they were running circles around the tractor. I think they were tied between eating the rest of their grain, checking out the new bale, and keeping near the fence where I was standing.
